Armenian soprano Narine Ojakhyan is emerging as one of the most interesting lyric sopranos of the new generation.
The Daily Breeze praised her for her ‘’ vibrant and crystal­ clear voice’’ and she was lauded by Stand point magazine for her “delicacy of presence and strength of voice’’.

After receiving her bachelor’s degree and Post Graduate Diploma at Yerevan Komitas State Conservatoire, she was awarded the Raffy Manoukyan scholarship to attend the Royal Academy of Music in London. After three years in Opera Program, she earned her master’s degree in opera performance and received the Royal Academy Honorary Diploma (DipRAM).

Narine has participated in numerous prestigious Young Artist programs and summer festivals including Solti Te Kanawa Academy di Bel Canto in Italy, the prestigious Caramoor festival in New York, Samling Program in London, Verbier Festival 2010 in Switzerland and the Alfonso Ortiz Tirado Music Festival in Mexico. She has coached with renowned artists such as Dame Kiri Te Kanawa, Frederica Von Stade, Barbara Bonney, Dennis O’Neill and many others.

The soprano’s operatic roles have included Mimi in La Boheme for the Verbier Festival (Switzerland), also for Bronx Opera (New York), Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro under the baton of Sir Colin Davis and directed by John Copley (London), the title role in Lucia di Lammermoor for the Iford Arts (London), Nella in Gianni Schicchi, Lusya in Paradise Moscow, Brigitta in Iolanta (London) and Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Armenia).

On the concert stage she gave her first Carnegie Hall solo recital as one of the Musical Armenia 2013 winners. She has performed with the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival, Torrance Symphony, Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, Los Angeles Performing Arts Orchestra, Glendale Philharmonic, Cilicia Symphony Orchestra and Burbank Philharmonic.

Narine is a winner of several competitions including the Opera Rara Patric Schmid Bel Canto Prize (London), Lyudmila Andrew Russian Song Prize (London), Hennings ­ Fischer Burbank Philharmonic Young Artists’ Competition (Los Angeles), and 3rd place winner of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions in 2010 (Western region). Her awards and grants include The Opera Buffs award (Los Angeles), Solti Foundation Award (London), Sayan Award (Armenia), and K. Orbelyan Award (Armenia).
​
Currently Narine continues pursuing her career and performs regularly in New York City.
